S&W 22A

Any thoughts?
I've done a little searching around and can't seem to find any threads on it.
Mainly, without a trip to the shop, I'd like to know if it's easy to pull the slide on.
I'm looking for a pistol for my wife. She's got minimal arm strength due to an injury.
She can't pull the bolt on my Ruger mkIII.

I've seen a lot on YouTube on them, but no mention of this.

I would say the the slide pull would be the same as the Ruger. The main problem is the concealed hammer and cocking it with the slide/bolt. A gun with a expossed hammer would let her thumb cock the gun, then it would have little slide resistance. One that comes to mind is the Walther P22.

I think the slide is much easier to "grip" than the ruger.

Best 22 semi auto out there for the money IMHO

I saw an extended attachment for the Ruger a while back. It was an aftermarket piece.

Looks as though it would make it quicker and easier.

Look around the net because there are many aftermarket parts available for the Ruger.

Thanks, I found what they call a "bolt racker", but it fits markII's and, as luck would have it, not MarkIII's.

Still gonna get her to check out one of the 22A's.

My 16 year old daughter and I shoot our 22A a lot. My wife prefers her Walther P22. So if possible have your wife shoot a few different models. One day I was shooting at the range next to a guy trying to teach his older mother how to shoot his 9mm. I let her shoot my 22A and she loved it...so see which one she is comfortable with.
