S&W 25-5 O/S Throats

I think it is more of an informational issue than an actual problem. I've owned a number of 25-5 and 25-2 revplvers chambered for ACP and Colt cartridge. Each was very accurate with most factory ammo and many of my pet handloads. Bottom line go to the range with a few kinds of ammo to try. One of them is bound to work perfectly for you.

Are the oversized cylinder bore's an issue with only the model 25's chambered in 45 Colt are also with the 45 ACP?

Oversized

I have shot a few rounds through it with OK accuracy.
If the cylinder bore is more than .453 your bullet will "bounce" a bit before hitting the barrel forcing cone, which I believe woudl lead to some sort of accuracy loss and possible leading issues.

But I will take some more rounds to the range and do some serious bench testing and see what the results are.

But I would still like to know if this was limited to the Model 25's chambered in 45 Colt?

Here is a 25 yard group shot with my out of the box 1979 vintage M25-5 with the 8 3/8" bbl. 255 gr. light loads. I am not the best shooter in the world, but I would not stand in front of me if you are a bad guy. Big Larry
