S&W 32 30-1

Hi,
New to the forum and this is my first post. Glad to be a member!

I have a model 32 nickel plated pistol that is like new in box. Model Number is 30-1... 3 inch barrel and the serial # is 8238xx.

Could someone please tell me what year this dates from?

I will try and post some pictures. Many thanks in advance.

Welcome Aboard! Having a little trouble in SCSW (Standard Catalog of S&W) looking this up. Model 30-1 began production in 1961 at serial 712954. The diamond grip was discontinued in 1968, yours does not have a diamond grip. The serial # chart shows 712954-826977 produced from '61-'70. Looks like yours is '68-'71. Best I can do, another member I'm sure can be more precise.

Great little gun, hope you keep it and the box.
