I have a Smith & Wesson chrome plated revolver that is 44 years old.

What ammunition would have the most stopping power if used for self defense ?

Thanks

If you have a 1972 S&W .32 caliber the first thing you need to do is put it in a safe deposit box. Cleaned and oiled.

3630 K-32's were made between 1947 and 1974 and none were chrome plated

S&W have sold a lot of guns that were nickel-plated, which is what you likely have unless someone has had one after-market chromed or the revolver is stainless steel.

Thanks for your replies. Here is the serial number on my gun.

A851924. Also says model 733 and 32 S&W.

Hope this helps.

I think what you will find is that you don't have a Smith & Wesson but rather a Harrington & Richardson Model 733 chambered in 32 S&W Long.
