Hello board...I was here last month with a question about my newly purchased .38 special Model 64-3 and got a lot of good info. As a first time gun buyer/owner, it was nice to get all the help in getting to know my first purchase.

I shot it for the first time at my gun dealers gun club last night. Wow; you were all right; what a sweet gun. I expected to feel a recoil but it was like nothing. It felt great in my hand and was so easy to shoot. We shot at the outside range because the inside range was being cleaned; but next week the gun dealer I bought the gun from is going to take me back to his club to go to the inside range for target shooting. I'm also going to his shop today because he wants to teach me how to clean the gun properly.

The gun dealer has been very helpful to me as he sees I'm new at all of this. And you all were very helpful as well. I will report back after I do some target shooting with how I feel the accuracy of the gun is....but I'm sure I'll again be very happy with it.

For not knowing what the hell I was doing; I sure picked up a great gun...and it has the look of such a classic gun too. Love it!

My condolences to you sir, as you now have the S&W disease (one is never enough), you are hooked and your dealer knows this. :D On the bright side, enjoy the ride you will have fun.

Glad you had fun and were happy with your new revolver. It wont be long till you call your dealer your "pusher"!

You couldn't have started with a better revolver. One of the best S&W's made. Welcome aboard.

you have selected one fine hand gun for your first revolver.

enjoy it and many happy returns (S&W of course)

The M64 is a great revolver, that's for sure. It sounds as though your dealer is a great guy as well. It's hard to get good customer service, to that extent anyway, in these times. Good choice in firearms and dealers. Congrats!

64-3 deal...

I also recently purchased w/ trade in a 64-3, 4" barrel, & love it. Saw it in my dealers case for $250. It was an armored car co. trade in, some nicks, very minor. I traded in an old Ortgies German .32 auto that needed some work. Got the 38 out the door for $200. & it takes +P loads just fine. Cleaned & polished it up, new Pachmyr grips, & it's like new. I'm hooked, now looking for a 2" little brother to match...
