S&W .38 Special, snub nose, Model 60. What year?

Boys - I just bought a used S&W .38 special, Model 60, <2 inch barrel (snub nose?). I'm trying to figure out its birth year.

Attached are some picks, along with Serial No: AVW 8308.

Looks like 1987 according to the Catalog.
