Hi,
I was offered S&W Model 39-2 in this rare caliber, perfect condition, no box or papers, awful Pachmayr grips, serial A162xxx. How would you estimate its value?
What is the difference from a regular 9 mm Para caliber apart from the barrel?

These are mentioned in the SCSW as "at least" 500 made, shipped to Germany without barrels, fitted with the part there and sold into the Italian commercial market, and 400% standard value of a 39-2.

Aside from the barrel, the magazine may or may not be different, as the rear of a 7.65 and 9 mm case are the same size (the bottleneck makes the .30 round smaller than the 9 mm at the tip).

A letter of authenticity would be highly recommended.

Thank you. I know the value should be 4x a regular value of 39-2 (I have SCSW both 3 and 4), but I was curious about a real value as I could not found this information on the Internet.

Neat variation of a classic. I have read they shipped without barrels.
Did the factory ship a blank barrel that was bored and chambered in
Germany? I dont know.

The best way to determine a value would be a recent US sale, but I wouldn't be surprised if there haven't been any.
