From what I understand the 410 is a "value version" of the 4006 probably aluminum instead of stainless. Would the holster for a 410 work with a 4006?? I am looking at a Don Hume 40-4.

You're half right. The S&W Model 410 is a "value" edition, but it comes closer to the S&W Model 4003. The 4003, like the 410, has a 4" barrel and an aluminum alloy frame, but the 4003 has a stainless steel slide whereas the 410 has a carbon steel slide. Also, where the 4003 has brushed stainless finish the 410 has a blackened finish. 4003 has an 11-round magazine versus a 10-round magazine in the 410.

To (finally) answer your question I would say that, yes, a 4006 should fit in a 410 holster. The 4006 will have more rounded edges than the 410 but otherwise, should be the same general size & shape -- quite a bit heavier, though -- the 4006 is all stainless steel. :-)

Hope this helps!

If you want a value holster to go with your value gun, look at the FOBUS SG-21.

It fits my "value" 915 very nicely.

In addition to my 4006 which rode with California Highway Patrol I also have a 915 which I got on GunBroker for $185.00. From the it's looks probably a street cop carried it but it is VERY accurate!!
