I'm sure there's someone out there who can tell me how to remove the factory S&W Delrin grips for replacement with a Houge...don't have my gun yet, just trying to get a head start..thanks!

Just punch the grip pin out and slide the S&W grips off. Hogue includes instructions with their grips making it a simple process. Some minor fitting may be necessary.

It's gonna feel like you're going to break them, but just follow the instructions. The Delrin grips are a PITA to take off and put back on. And the instructions posted above are instructions to put the grip back on.. The ones I have instruct you to take out the pin at the base, and then press down on the plunger in the base of the grip. And they don't mention anything about locking tabs, just slightly spread apart the grips and slide off.

Gentleman...thanks for the heads up! I got "lucky" on Auction Arms yesterday and picked up a beatup-looking 4046 for only $275. There was marring in different places, the night sights are dead and the grip was roughed up with a crack...either a former gangbanger's piece or a cop who just didn't take good care of it. Either way, its mine now and I have to wait for it to show up. I'm thinking a new Houge grip, some TLC polishing with Comet and some good automotive touchup paint will restore the sights to make her much more presentable. Bought it from Superpawn in Vegas, so you don't get a shooting test evaluation...all they'll tell you is it functions. So, I'll come back on the forum after I do the clean up and test fire her. Bottom line, you can sometimes get good deals on AA if you're careful and know what you're doing. Thanks again...
