Hi everyone,

Just bought this one in 44 russian, my question is the second sight was an option from s&w or a gunsmith stuff? Comment will be appreciated. Happy new year!

What a beauty! Lucky you. I'm sure one or more of the experts will chime in. To me, it looks like a gunsmith custom job. I don't see provision for windage or elevation adjustment so I assume it was to give a better sight picture with the adjusted custom foresight blade. I just finished tweaking a foresight blade I made that puts me in the bull without having to modify the rear sight. First pic was after the rough sight was installed. Second is all dialed in and blued.

Nice foresight. Better than the previous one!

It is most assuredly an addition.

The factory target sight of the time (screw adjustable for elevation, and movable by hand for windage) was built into the latch---not stuck on top of the barrel. Exmilcop's right on the money!
