This looks like the handy work of the PC. Anyone know it's history. I was thinking about getting one of my JR500s clipped. I love my 325 Night Guard and would love a JR500 NightGuard.

That is not the work of the S&W Performance Center.

Is this something that you bought? Or a picture you found on the Internet?

If you own it, why did not not just ask the person that you bought it from?

However, I would bet that is a dummy picture that you found on the Internet. The revolver appears to not have an ejector rod.

S&W already makes a very good 500 Snubby

Chief38. Like all reasons for a Snubby! Plus the Awh Factor and it would just be nice to have. Would hate to use it for all the reasons you can think of. I found the photo while looking around the Internet. I picked up a pair of John Ross S&W PC 500s. I have a pair of 325 TR and a 325 NG. So to round off the two 500s I thought a snubby would be cool. Thanks for your post. Take Care!

Flame Thrower?

Just out of curiosity, what would one actually use a S&W 500 Mag SNUBBY for anyway? Seems pretty useless to me others than as a curio.

I too wonder what would be the point of seriously crippling this potent cartridge with such a short barrel. For one thing, if close enough, you'll probably torch whatever you shot.

Photoshopped image.

Doing that chop job to a JR would be sacrilege.

Just buy a factory snub and your done.

If you could get close enough to game. You could kill it and grill it at the same time.

I think it would be a fun one to have.

About 6 years ago I was invited up to the S&W Factory on business and they invited me to join them at their Range where I was able to shoot any handgun in their line-up. Since I had never shot the 500 S&W Magnum before, that was one of the ones I chose. I shot 50 rounds out of a 6" model and while the recoil was stiff it did not bother me nearly as much as the deafening noise did (indoor range). I have not shot another 500 Mag since that time nor do I have any desire to. I can't imagine how loud a Snubby 500 would be!

I agree that there doesn't always have to be an exact practical reason to own something (I do have a few of those myself), but would personally want at least a dozen other Snubby's before getting one in 500 mag. Just my opinion of course and YMMV.

I think it would be pretty useful for tilting the odds in a bear hugging contest with a Grizzly........ :D :D

Sorry... Didn't mean to use the "B" word...... :D

Actually the uncompensated models like the snub and JR are much more pleasant to shoot- less flash and noise coming back to you.

Good luck and be safe

Won't even deny the curio part, ever since I saw this I've added showing up with a snubby 500 to my local club to the bucket list.

Rings of fire baby!

Two JohnRoss 500 Magnums next to a 325 and 325NG. Great for hunting rabbits to dinosaurs! Even the occasional truck, freight train, helicopter, or lawn mower (see YouTube video ;-)
