Picked up my first model 52 today. It is an unfired (other than factory firing), model 52-2, has the original box, tools, 3 mags, etc. I have owned 39-2’s in the past and this sure looks similar. This is one of the pics he sent me of it, it is very clean. Any info on the 52-2’s that is worth knowing?

Congrats on your purchase. There is a ton of information on this forum about the M52. Just use the search function and you will have hours worth of reading available.

Looks like a very early example of the 52-2, maybe a 1971 vintage?

Gorgeous.

S&W Support just responded to my question and they said this one has a manufacture date of 1968–1969. Had a collector look at it in person and he agreed that it is unfired too. Was a good find

You need to find a good supply of w/c's , once you start shooting a 52 it's hard to stop . Outside of an older PC gun , it's got to be the most accurate gun S&W made . As a matter of fact I think it was Sevens that said the 52 was the start of the PC era .
