I've got two older 60's (38. Special, not .357) with fixed sights.
My wife bobbed the hammer on hers. She did a perfect job of breaking it right at the narrow part (upside down on concrete... not a scratch anywhere else), and I finished the job by put a nice rounded edge on the hammer stub with a dremel.
She carries hers a lot in her purse while, to this day, I've never fired mine. It just sits in the box because I have too many others I end up carrying already.
Don't see much use for .357 in that particular pistol because it's punishing enough when I shoot .357 out of my snubby Model 66.
Adjustable sights also are more a curiosity on a barrel that short, but that probably makes it more valuable (rarity wise) in combination with the 3" barrel.
Probably not as practical as the fixed sight 2" Model 60 for carry, but I'd buy it in a heart beat at that price and tuck it in the safe just to see where it's value lies in the future.
Short story: I actually bought a brand new Colt Python w/2" barrel in 1984. I had gone in to the store looking for a 4" Python and that's all they had.
I had buyers remorse by the next day because my heart was set on the 4".
So like a moron who couldn't see the future, I returned the 2" Python and found a new 4" elsewhere.
Still kicking myself...
So yea, you did good with that adj. sight, 3", .357 Model 60.
Just make sure you're there on 4/15 because someone else might show up on 4/16 with cold hard cash.
