Just picked a new 625JM today. I bought it in a GunBroker auction. None of the local Prescott shops had one and told me they were allocated. I paid $850+shipping and the FFL on this end, which ended up costing about the same as sales tax if bought locally.

I'm attending an LEO instructor course and needed it ASAP, otherwise I would have ordered it locally.

Trigger feels heavier than my 686P, but maybe it's just the difference in grips.

I bought the RIMZ plastic moon clips, so don't need a mooner\demooner. A friend told me about them and I agree they save time and effort.

That serrated trigger will take some getting used to. The edges seem a bit sharp.

It's my second revolver...a nice change from duty Glocks.

I also have a 625JM and paid the same here in CA.

The plastic moon clips are great for practice at the range.

But I find that if I put a loaded RIMZ moon clip in my pocket, there is a good chance the one or more rounds will fall out by the time I take it out.

Not good for a self defense gun or a gun used in competition.

The gun came with 5 metal clips (if I remember correctly) and I don't have a problem with them. I also bought some Wilson Combat clips that work well.

For training I may get a couple moonclip belt holders. I carry Glocks on duty, but wouldn't hesitate to carry the 625 off duty. Next, I need to find a holster.

Any suggestions?

Saw on at a local shop yesterday. USED - lt was $1100.. l told the guy he was on drugs............

Very nice, I also just bought one yesterday used but not much
guy said it was made in 2012. It came with 30 moon clips and the tool for the clips, 450 rds of ammo and a holster also had
the Hogue rubber grips on it, all for $8oo + DOJ.
But I live in CA so I have 9 days to go.

I met JM a few years ago, super nice guy.

But, I don't care for his grips or the serrated trigger. Of course I can't shoot like him either.

You can buy bulk metal moon clips from Ranch Products ph# 313-277-3118 or smaller qty. from Brownells. Brownell's also has a screwdriver like de-mooning tool that makes the job Much easier..

Great firearm ,, enjoy,,

Bring it down to Nelson Ford in Phoenix. He'll radius the edges of that trigger and smooth the innards and probably give you an earful about that hole in the side of the gun.

Probably good advice. I have a 625 Mr. Ford overhauled, courtesy of one of the members here on this forum. He really did a nice job on that revolver. If that gun is the norm for him, it would be money well spent.

Congrats on the 625 JM. I see you're in Prescott.....a great shooters town eh? BTW I just saw a new JM at Bucky O'Neill's shop Friday. Have fun.

I had to take a stone to my trigger. If you shoot it much it will trash your finger.

To the OP. The 625 will grow on you warts and all. I changed the grips and it still needs a trigger job but it's a keeper. They are sorta hard to find. I snagged mine from my dealer before he put it out, otherwise it was gone.

I had been wanting a 45 ACP revolver for quite a while. Bud's had a 625 JM listed as used for $799, shipped. It is of 2009 vintage. Actually, when I received it, no signs of being fired! Smith moonclips worked good, Fitz, good too! I got some others, that bind in the gun. Will probably throw out. I can't find a site for the Fitz clips. To make a long story short, I love this Smith! (along with the others) My new favorite though! Had it a little over a month now. Bob
