Hi, I would like some help identifing this revolver. It is a 4" tapered barrel. It has a plain black front ramp sight that is pinned. The front of the cylinder is beveled. The finish is matte not like regular stainless steel. It is a round butt, all markings are rollmarked. The serial # BDV XXXX
Any help will be appreciated. Thanks, lrad

According to SCSW, I'm going to go with the early BDV prefix in April '89. BDY appears again in '94, But I have a BNE 629-3 from '93 and it should be after yours. Joe

The first issue of Mountain Guns had a mat finish and DID NOT say Mountain Gun anywhere on the weapon. On the bbl it said Smith and Wesson and on the other side of the bbl it said 44 Magnum. All the series that follow them have Mountain Gun etched or stamped on one side of the bbl.

They are the predecessors to the Mountain Gun series. Mine has a Serial# of BDV94XX. Mines' a great shooter and the last 44 to leave the ranch.
