S&W 637 Wyatt Deep Cover

Thousands of Apex kits have been sold and I've never read of one failing. Can you imagine the legal liability if they sold kits that didn't work?

Now... Joe Bob the hillbilly gunsmith clipping coils and using mystery springs... that's another subject all together.

I bought a new 638 last week. It has a heavy trigger pull. This weekend I’ll get into it. I have the Apex spring kit, and the lock delete. The rebound slide will get polished as well. Hopefully this will tame it.

I have a Wyatt deep cover that I inherited from an old military friend that I served with. The trigger is very smooth and makes it shoot pretty well, better than my regular 637.
No need for any mods on it.

I thought that the Sheriff was overstepping, too - but the poster is from California - I guess that the rule makers, I mean law enforcement get away with that kinda stuff in those there parts.

My rule is that for carry guns you want a carry package. In the unlikely event that you shoot someone with it remember you will be questioned on the witness stand by a prosecutor or attorney for the family about modifications to your gun. And your “hair trigger” or some such nonsense.

As far as I know there has never been a so-called "righteous shooting" that resulted in a criminal conviction or a civil judgment that dealt with any kind of modifications to a firearm. It's a myth.

There might have been one police shooting where a firearm discharged when it shouldn't have due to a light trigger but I think the "victim" was either a fellow police officer or a perp who needed killing, I can't remember which. I think Massad Ayoob has it in one of his video lectures.

But we digress......and I agree, Rich Wyatt ought not to be discussed in polite company.
