S&W 640-1 .357 Magnum

I don't know the name of the original grips, they are somewhere in the safe but they had finger grooves for 3 digits allowing for a good grip. I took mine off for a set of Spegal wood boot grips for better concealment and now my shirt or jacket does not catch on the wood, exposing the gun. As for ammo, the Federal 140 gr. Personal Defense in .357 mag. hits point of aim at 15 yards with nice tight groups. But I have a hard time finding the stuff, so I am back to the Remington 125 gr. JHP. My barrel is Mag-Na-Ported and yes it does reduce recoil, so it is not too punishing to shoot with the hot load.

Thanks Gauntlet. The Uncle Mikes' boot grip has two finger grooves and orphans the pinky finger under the bottom of the grip. There is a larger Uncle Mike's J frame grip that has three finger grooves. I have both in my "box o' spare grips" and I just wanted to be able to put the original factory equipment with the gun if needed. I'll find that out when I next see my dealer.
