FYI

I don't know when S&W reintroduced New Model 648
22WMR caliber, but while snooping around the S&W
Website I came across it.

New Model, Stainless Steel, 8 shot, 6in barrel. Price
appeared reasonable.

Interesting

Similar to my 617 6"Bbl model

8 shot, interesting.

22WMR

After seeing the S&W 648 22Mag on the S&W site
I decided to check my Favorite Local Gun Shop.

They have not heard about the Reintroduced 648
22Mag yet. They did said if I want one they could
get me one.

I did see though they did have the 4"Bbl and 6"Bbl
Reintroduced New Model S&W 610 10mm Auto.

I'm holding out, still hoping S&W will reintroduce a
41Mag or 45Colt.

P.S. LGS had a New Model Blued 48 22WMR in their
Display Cabinet.

The .41 mag is available. Or did you mean a stainless .41 mag?

I'm gonna get the 648 as soon as it's available!

S&W Stainless Steel

rat107 - A Stainless Steel S&W Revolver is
what I was meaning.

Now if S&W made the Classic in 4"Bbl (instead
of the 6"Bbl) I would definitely buy that!

One thing about the Reintroduced M648 22Mag
is that it would go nice with the 6"Bbl collection;
M629 44Mag, M686 357Mag, and M617 22Lr.

Fire Stick

Shooting the 22WMR in a Revolver is not for
the Faint of Heart. For some reason it is just
obnoxious out of a Handgun.

At the Indoor Range a guy had a new Kel Tech
Semi Auto 22Mag next me, wow, just startling
when it went off.

The fire spewing 650 and 651 duo.

These little puppies are pretty obnoxious at the range too!

It will be interesting to see how accurate the 648 will be compared to a 48. The 648 looks good!

I think I'll wait awhile before I pull the trigger.

I know this is an old thread but just want to know if the most current 648 is a dash 2, thanks

Nice thread resurrection. I liked it.

I have to add that if anyone thinks a 6" all steel .22 Magnum is a fire breather then you need to shoot a High Standard .22 WMR derringer. THAT will get your attention!

New model 648

I own a new model 648 mounted with a 21/2 X8 Leupold handgun scope It shoots 3" groups at 75 yards without any trouble. It likes the 30 grain Hornady. Rod

I bought one this past year and it is a 648-2. Shoots great and accurate enough to squirrel hunt at 25yds with my near sighted eyes. I may have to try a scope on it, It's my understudy for my 610 no dash 6.5".
