This seem like a good deal? Wasn't looking for one...would love a 3", but if it's a deal I'd probably buy it.

If it is as good as it looks in the photo, then I'd buy it for $400. But then I just paid $415 + tax for a very holster-worn model 19 shooter....

Looks like a great gun for the money. Even if something was wrong with it -- there's enough padding in the price to fix it.

I asked him what shape it's in, and he replied back...

Lockup is tight, shoots great. It's got average wear for a 30 year old gun, it's in good shape.

I hate when someone says average wear for a 30 year old gun.

I've got a pre model 30 that other than the slightest turn ring is flawless, and a no dash 60 in the same condition.

It's only about a 40 mile ride from my place, probably check it out. Supposed to be good weather for a ride anyhow.

Meet the guy at Gander Mountain to check it out a few hours ago. Action was nice and tight and the trigger is smooth as silk. It's been carried, and has a few light scratches I could probably work out with some Mothers.

Main problem was some @zz hat engraved the serial number on the barrel above the ejector rod. No clue why cause it's clear as day on the bottom of the butt.

Rode off with it for $360. I still want a 3" version!

Congratulations! How could you not do it? I don't have a 65, but do own a 13-2. They tend to shoot quite well. Bob

A previous owner probably had stocks that covered the serial number and he/she engraved it there for 'ease of inspection' - just my guess.

Great gun for the money!

Thanks Everyone!

Never thought about that. It might have been a police trade in and they did it for that reason?

I love the grips that came on it, pretty thin and made by some company called Eagle and it has India under that. I guess their cheap, but fit my hand good...as long as I shoot 38's thru it.

At least he had sense enough to engrave that number where he did instead of alongside the frame or on the sideplates!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm going to check the stocks on my customized Model 64 when I get home. They look a lot like those and folks have asked me about them - now I'm REALLY curious.

You bought great gun - good price - well done!
