NICE CARRY PIECE!
I do my own action jobs on all of my guns, but I must admit when it comes to carry guns, I do a MINIMAL amount of work. I usually leave in the factory springs, but totally strip the gun down and clean and LIGHTLY lubricate all moving parts after inspecting them and GENTLY removing any burrs that might be present. DO NOT GO ANY FARTHER THAN NECESSARY when removing burrs, because once you take metal off, you can not put it back! Don't mess with the sear and trigger engagement either, they will wear in after some use. You do not want to remove the shallow case hardening which will cause premature trigger wear.
The best way to really "break in" the weapon is to shoot the heck out of it. The practice won't hurt either. After 700 - 800 rounds of .38's and a few dozen .357's it should be nice & smooth. You will sleep soundly knowing that when ever you pull that trigger the gun will go bang because you have no reason to get light primer hits.
By the way, the lubricant I like is Remoil. The reason being is the "carrier" soon evaporates and leaves behind a rust preventative and a thin coating of Teflon which lasts quite a while. You won't get a "heavy oil" that attracts dirt and crud gumming up the works.
Anyway, that is my .02 cents. Hope it helps.
