Can anyone tell me if the s&w 66-4 4" ever was made with a round butt? Also does anyone know if there would be any difference in shooting 38 specials out of the 66 compared to a model 67? Thanks!!!

There should be a lot of round butt 66-4's, since the transition from SB to RB happened during the life span of the 66-4.

For "everyday" use shooting .38's in the 66 is great. For serious competition use I would go for the 67, it's made for the .38.

I got at 66-4 and a 67-5 and I use the 67 for competition, but the real reason is that the 67 has a better trigger job.

In the real world a revolver chambered for .357 will often shoot .38s just as accurately as one chambered for the .38 Special. Lots of folks have noticed this over the years.
