S&W 6906 magazine base plates

Would like to replace 6906 pinky extensions with metal base plates. I think maybe 5906 or 59 base plates would work but not sure. I need 3 base plates. Also wondering if pinky extensions can be ground off to look like flat base plates. Can metal base plates be fabricated without to much of a problem. Any help would be appreciated. If 59 or 5906 will work where can they be found.

I don't know if the 6906 base plates will grind down nicely or not, but would be curious to find out if you try it.

THE 59 2ND AND 3RD GENERATION BASE PLATES WILL WORK JUST FINE. ALSO YOU CAN GRIND OFF THE FINGER NO PROBLEM. MY BUDDY DID IT. BUT HE USED A BELT SANDER AND IT WORKED GREAT. HE WANTED THEM FLAT TO USE IN HIS MARLIN 9MM CAMP CARBINE.
