I have several boxes of S&W brand ammo I purchased many moons ago. I am wondering if it has any value or should I just shoot it up. I have 44mag, 357 and 38 spl.
Thanks

I see S&W ammo on gun show tables in Michigan now and then. If I can buy a box for about what a box of new ammo sells for I purchase it. I use it mostly as props when taking photos of my S&W firearms. I don't know what the long term prices may be, but they aren't making any more of it, at least right now.

I have 30 rounds of S&W .30-'06 180 grain soft nose, made in Canada. Does it really have value to a collector?

I believe mkk41 is correct. I have also heard it was made by Fiocchi. I don't know if that's good or bad. My humble opinion is that you probably won't get rich buying and hoarding the stuff, but a few boxes are fun to collect. I did find a box of 38 special wadcutter in I think 85grain. I had never seen this light a 38 special bullet so I bought the box, for $20. I do see vendors at local shows with many brands of old ammunition protected in plastic wrap and they tell me this is the 1953 box of this or that and it is much more valuable than the 1954 box, but I just am not that into it. But, for those folks who are, party on and good hunting!
