I like to ask which gun would you buy ?

I am looking for a light weight 380 for pocket carry .
The Ruger reviews are good and I just shot the LCP the other day the gun ran flawless 3 clips all group fired at 12 yards not much more then a 1" group on paper.
The Bodyguard I have not handle yet but it seem it has been a topic on recall for the gun going back to S@W for repair
any view pro or cons before I make a purchase

For pocket carry, the LCP wins hands down.Put it into a Recluse holster and you can carry in your jeans front or rear pocket with ease. If you decide on the RUger, you should get a BT Guide rod & a set of recoil springs from Wolff. The factory units are, well ****. The guide rod head will peen over & the Wolff springs will help with feeding some ammo. Mine has over 1,200 rounds thru it. The factory guide rod was trashed after 500. Other than that issue, the gun is flawless. Just get used to shooting the miniature sights & you'll be good to go. Carry the Corbon DPX ammo in it.

??? I had no idea someone made guide rods for the LCP! I'm going to check this out.

If you were able to shoot a 1" group at 12yds with a LCP then that's one you should keep! Both are getting hard to get, I've got both a B/O and they're telling me at least July before I see the Bodyguards.

I hope all LCP shoot the same or did I just get lucky with the one I shot
I ran 3 full clips threw the gun with the same groups.I did one clip with
the lazser but I like the iron sights more like just a point and gun for close range out to 12 yards max:

The Smith has a lifetime warranty and you can buy it for less than $290 if you qualify as a first responder.

Mine is an EAL serial number and I have never had any issues after more than 600 rounds and 400 dry fires. The early models had some laser problems and some broken firing pins. Mine runs like a watch...

I would say neither. But out of the 2 the LCP is superior. It's very snappy and unmanageable for me with my huge hands. It's still an awesome gun and imo the best pocket .380

My buddy had a BG380 after the first magazine , 1st shot on 2nd mag resulted in a kaboom -- it was an early one though and I hear they fixed the issues. It also looks cooler then the LCP but go with the Ruger.

I have shot both, and went to the Sig P238. It has a bit more mass, resulting in less recoil and jumping. It also has a much more manageable trigger.

Copy that, P238 easily spanks both the LCP and the SBG, Less snappy recoil gives better second shot, crisp trigger, better fit and finish. Having owned all 3, I sold the SBG and the LCP, the Sig is the way to go

Well I'm not sure this thread is going to help you determine which to buy. Everyone will have their own opinion. I own a Sig P238 and 2 BG380's. I have also shot the LCP but have never owned one. My Sig has issues. It does not eject well at all. It is rare to get a single clip through without a FTE.

I haven't had a single problem with my BG 380s. They have been flawless. I also prefer the BG or LCP over the single action Sig. Just my opinion.

The most important part of any CC self defense weapon is that it works flawlessly. If you find an LCP that does it . . . buy it.

I own both, but always end up carrying the LCP, just because it is so flat and light. Almost like a pocket knife. I have a 442 and a 357 model 60. Bought the same pocket holster (DeSantis) that I use with the LCP, hoping that would make the Smith easier to carry. Nope. Love S&W, own a bunch, but carry a Ruger most days. No picture of my LCP, that would be like including a picture of my claw hammer, just a good tool for a particular job.

I've fired both the LCP and the Bodyguard. I ended up buying the Bodyguard and don't regret the decision for a moment. The LCP sights are useless, while the Bodyguard has sights you can actually use. Also, on the Bodyguard the slide will lock back after the final round, not so on the LCP. As far as reliability I have no doubt that both will perform flawlessly if properly maintained. I carry my Bodyguard everyday in a Desantis superfly pocket holster as a BUG to my G27, and have no doubt it will perform when needed. Ultimately, it comes down to what bells and whistles you want and what you feel the most comfortable with. Good luck on your quest, I look forward to hearing your decision.

LCP nice gun, just doesnt fit my hand right. So far my Bodyguard is totally reliable and surprisingly accurate. Disappears in my pocket.
Will pick up a P238 as soon as I can find a plain blue one. Wont pocket carry cocked and locked though.

I have the LCP, 238 and the Bodyguard. Outa the three listed the way I see it is; each one has its own pluses and minuses, but after owning and shooting each one extensively, I rank um as follows. Top shooter is easily the Sig P238, secondly the Bodyguard and lastly the LCP. The Sig totally tames the recoil and is very accurate. The BG comes in second for felt recoil and can be better when using he extended grip plate that is offered as a accessory which actually makes a full size grip and gives superior control over all of um. The LCP is a excellent pocket option, but can be a handful with the tiny grip. The BG really isn't much better, but the grip angle helps with the muzzle flip.

IMO, the best value is easily the BG. The Sig is a awesome pocket/IWB option but they can be pricy, especially if you go with night sights like I did. The trigger system on the Sig is a pleasure to shoot and the accuracy is only helped due to that factor alone. The thumb safety is easy to manipulate and is a good measure of safety for the cocked and locked mode of carry. The BG has a extremely long trigger pull that can be a problem to master, but it's designed to be a safety measure and can be mastered with some practice; which needs to be done anyway. My LCP sits in he safe and has for along time now. Since my BG purchase a while back so has the Sig. The size and weight coupled with the accuracy of the BG makes it the ideal pocket pistol IMO. The insight laser easily makes up for the night sights during low light situations on the Sig, and the iron sights on he BG are easily acquired during day use.

Some of he early issues with the BG have been addressed and if you can get your paws on one of the later ones you should have a VERY reliable little pocket option. The caliber isn't the first choice obviously, but if the operator can shoot the pistol, the round is sufficient, and even more so in quantities of two or three...

I have plenty of carry options and carry most all from time to time, but what's in my pocket right now as I sit in my living room typing this on my iPad, yup, my BG stoked with BuffaloBores hot Barns All copper HP round. This is the best stuff on the .380 market IMO. The next would be he Speer Gold Dots. Either or would be a good defense round in the .380 caliber. FWIT.

I did have a chance to handle the BD the one draw back on the gun for me was the laser system.I find the button was a pain and my trigger finger a little to short to activate the laser,The sale man had no problems showing how it work but he had larger fingers.I did like the gun would say a little larger then the LCP :I may have look a little deeper into the gun if they came with out the laser system

I did purchase the ruger LCP this morning $299.00 now some Range time going to run some PMC and Fiocchi 95 HP threw it.
