S&W Circassian K Frame Stocks

Can someone fill me on the use of circassian walnut? I have a nice set of K frame pre-war checkered stocks with silver medallions. They are serial numbered 658855. If you know of a set that has sold recently I would like to know to get these in the ballpark. Full discloser - I will likely be posting these in the classifieds, no offers please.

Circassian walnut was used heavily until sometime in the 1930s. After that, the company switched to American walnut or black walnut. The figure in Circassian walnut is beautiful and I like them the best. Here's a picture of a round butt .32-20 that wears a pair from the 1910 to 1920 period. I really like these.

To me Circassian walnut from the early 1900’s was the nice’s Smith & Wesson grips ever made.

Guess yours look about like these. They are on a K-22 Outdoorsman from 1937.
Have not seen any sell lately. My guess on value not based on much of anything would be $200.

Yes, they look like those. I'm assuming the medallions were used about the same period as the larger ones on the N frames for HD's etc.

I do not recall any resources that state exactly when Circassian walnut stocks were phased out, but I agree that the 1900s and 1910s walnut was by far the best quality stocks of all time.
