I've been going thru all my S&W "stuff" during these cold winter days and came across a factory sealed cleaning kit with a 6" looped rod, large caliber brush and large caliber mop. There is no SAT! My first thought was a model 58 but those were 4" barrels. The only other thing I can imagine is possibly an early 1911 .45 but I don't know if they were early enough to be in the "looped" cleaning rod era.
Anyone care to venture a guess?
Thanks in advance;
Mike

I'm sorry, by "large caliber" I meant that the brush and mop are much larger diameter than the ones in a .38 caliber kit. You would have a very hard time pushing them thru a .38 cal. barrel. The 581 & 681 are .357 mag.
Thanks for participating though;
Mike

or a 645? Do I win the tool kit if i get this right?

"model 25 in .45 long colt?"
All the 25s had adjustable sights so would need a SAT.

"how about a 745? or a 645?"
I believe we have a winner!!! I assumed (wrongly and not the first time) those had adjustable sights, but checking the S&W "Bible" they did have some fixed sight versions.
Thank you hoytx10
