Hey Folks,
I was thinking of the upcomming gun shows for this weekend and making a list of things to look for. Recently I picked up this Model 58 w/matching box/grips.
One of the things I want to find is a box or two of ammo so I can put it thru it's paces. One of the things I have read about on this particular model is the ammount of felt recoil. Since I dont reload , I may end up with some factory loads that are a little hotter than I would prefer.
Looking around to see if I had a set of Hogue grips for a N frame I located these bad boys in an overflow box. Thought they might do the job just fine. Put them on and they sure feel good. Keep finding myself picking the 58 back up and aiming with it just to feel the grips and balance.
These grips are a little beat up and over the years have made more than a few trips to the deer woods with me. I really like the look and feel of the S&W combat grips. The diamond pc magnas look real good on the old 58 but these combats I feel do it no shame for a range visit.
Anyway , as I sit and admire the look and feel of these nice grips I was wondering if anyone else feels the same? Some of these combats have the best looking wood on them. That being said , if ya got'em please post up some pictures of your revolvers dressed up with S&W combats.
Not sure if there has ever been a dedicated thread to these grips but in my opinion , there should be. I am not real good at the picture taking , but you get the idea.
Here's the 58 with it's "range shoes" on.
