It had some hiccups at first so I sent it back to the factory. I'm very happy with the excellent customer service. When I got it I had a few fail to feeds and the premature locking back of the slide (still had rounds in the mag). I got the pistol back in about 3 weeks and the slide lock and barrel had been replaced. The ramp on the new barrel looked much nicer. Last week I shot 150 rounds of Winchester 185 grain FMJ with no problems. I cleaned and shot it this morning, 50 rounds of the same Winchester 185 FMJ and 100 rounds of Gold Dot 185 grain hollow points that I plan to use for carry. Perfect function and accurate beyond my expectations, I really like this pistol. It is more than I hoped for considering how small and light it is.

.45 Shield Issues

Nice to hear S&W has great customer service, especially resolving the specific issues you had with your Shield 45. I had exactly the same problems you had: failures to feed and the slide locking open on a partially full magazine after firing more than 200 rounds of both target and personal defense ammo. I am currently waiting on the return of my Shield 45 from the S&W factory. I hope my issues are resolved as quickly as your's were. Good shooting!
