I'll soon be acquiring a 629-5. This will have dual purpose, for the range and camping. I'm picky about my triggers and will want to get my SA down to a crisp 3-3.5#.

I liked the the outdoor package: outdoor package I saw on the S&W site.

-Anybody ever sent their revolvers in for work at S&W? How was it?
-Are they willing to set a Trigger at 3 to 3.5#?

I do my own so no I've never sent them out.

Admittedly I do not own any Smiths made after 1994 so I am not all that familiar with the new production Smiths, but at least the older offerings would usually come right out of the box with SA trigger pulls at around 3 - 3.5 pounds with no work needed. I've gotten some with even lighter weights on the SA. Before doing anything at all, take your new gun out and shoot is at least 500 times and see what you have. You might be well within your desired pull weight.

Disassembly, a good cleaning and de-burring can also help.

Thanks for the info. Every 629-5 I've looked at recently in LGSs needed trigger work. Not awful triggers - just needed to eliminate some creep and certainly not 3.5# in SA.

Most of my new S&Ws have been 4-4.5# SA trigger pull out of the box. Some are better than others.

A 14# Wolff rebound spring & a light polishing can easily get you to 2.5-3.0#.
