I just bought a governor for hmmm not sure it was so cool looking and i love S&W pistols but upon getting home and ready to go shooting it locked up. I used the key to try to see if the lock was on and it was not. weird thing is i can cock it in single action but it locks up it double action. Anybody have this issue? Can i remove the lock feature?

I have seen this problem once before in a new revolver. On a guess, as this is a new revolver, it would act like the ratchet pad hasn't been cut quite enough. If it is a challenge to get the hammer "all the way back" on a S.A. thumb cock, more likely than not, the hand may have a little too much purchase on the ratchet pad. That would make it most likely a ratchet pad adjustment; not the hand adjustment. As it is new, I'd take the intelligent approach & notify service...smarter than causing more trouble - Good luck - Dave

Very odd. Should be smooth. Take it back to the dealer you bought it from. Didn't you dry fire it and look it over good before purchase??

Governor

Thanks. Dry fired a few times when i purchased and seemed fine. It's back at the dealer so we'll see what they come up with
