You can't beat the custom jobs they do at the S&W factory but Cylinder and Slide does good work too. I had several done years ago by 300 Gunsmithing Service and those were great but they're long out of business now sadly. Also look at Mag-Na-Port for custom work but, for heaven's sake avoid the ports!

Another good source for custom work would be Chestnut Mountain Sports in West Rutland, Vermont. The one man shop is run by Karl Sokol and he does some amazing work! There have been a number of articles about his guns in Combat Handguns and Guns and Weapons for Law Enforcement over the past 16 years. He's also been a Smith & Wesson armorer for decades so he knows his way inside and out on Smith's.

Here's a link to his website (which doesn't have many pictures on there right now as he changed ISP's): Karl Sokol Chestnut Mountian Sports Gunsmithing Services

Here are some photos of his work I found on the Net:

The picture of the 3913 above is a gun Karl customized for my wife although the small thumbnail doesn't do it any justice. Well, that and you were looking for revolver work and not a semi-auto. Karl pretty much works on any kigh quality firearms, handguns and long guns, competition or carry, you name it!

I would do my best to find someone local, shipping is so darn expensive now. Last time I shipped a handgun it was about $60.00 each way.

A armorer who did the DAO conversion on my CS9 and smoothed the trigger out @ S+W.His name is Carmine, and when he said no worries the DAO trigger will be smooth he wasn't kidding......God Bless.....Mike.
