Anyone here going? I will be there, as I have business on the east coast, and I was lucky enough to get signed up for the match. I will be shooting a M&P 40 L as it is my only gun with night sights. Also taking the S&W factory tour...

I'm SOing the match along with a couple other forum members. I'm a flaoter this year, today I was on the ATM for a while then the Meat locker. Helped set up for lunch too. I like that, gets me in line first!

I shot on Wed. Best match I have shot in a long time. Pretty sure I will get bumped too

From looking at your avitar, I think I saw you. I shot yesterday. Had a pretty good match except for stage 1 & 2. Convinced myself I had to shoot much faster than I actually needed to for the mover and turners. I lost 52 points down for the entire match, 29 of which were on stage 1 and 2. Shot my first hostage in about a year at the ATM, and got a procedural while pocketing an empty mag on stage 11, inserting a new mag behind cover then forgetting to run the slide until I got to the next shooting port. That meat locker stage was awesome, as was stages 1 and 2. Hope I can make it back next year...

missiondude,
S&W is a long haul for a ROK dude, glad you liked it. I have been SOing these for about 10 years and really like the people and the match is always the best match of the year. The nationals are nice too but it seems like the props and stages at S&W are always top notch.

SO's get half off gun purchases. Last year I got a 627

This year I got the 325 Thunder Ranch, local gun pusher said it is there waiting for me already!

Pix to follow....

Warren -

This is Chris. After waiting that eternity, I finally was able to talk to someone. They said the Model name did not correspond to the SKU and brought me out a comparable K Frame with a 4 inch barrel. I asked if I could call and verify the information since I didn't want to drive back to the shooting center during the day. I jump on the computer at home and what do you know, the Model name AND SKU I gave them were the ones on their own webpage. I was legitimately one of the last cars in the lot. That was a looong wait for a little info. Awesome job today, the match ran very smoothly.

What was the round count of the match?

One of these years, I'm going to get there!

I think the minimum round count was 150.

I was surprised how many DQ's again this year. Series 80 safety's removed seemed to be the biggest problem.

Had one Pro speed thru the unload and show clear procedure, did the slide forward and hammer down without looking and having the SO look into the chamber, when the hammer went down it got pretty exciting for a bit.

Another young man that I have known for years had a slam fire, very disappointing and unfortunate.

I got the match bump I have been waiting for, it seems like it takes forever to get a match bump in either revolver category.

It was nice to see Joyce Wilson come out and acknowledge some of the growing pains of IDPA and give a bit of a hint on things that will change. She seems like a very nice and together woman.

I would like to see SO's that spend a week of their time at these events get a point towards the point count for shooting at the big events. It seems like a small thank you from IDPA for giving up a week's vacation.
