Has anyone seen one, tried it out, etc. I am wondering if it is lock free, (S&W site does not show the left side) and how stiff the trigger is???? thanks

Have emailed S-W about the availability of the 43C and was informed they planned to start shipping March 2011. Would like to have one as an understudy of a 442.

43c & 713's

I have 4 317's and would love to see the 43C.
Wolff springs make the DA trigger still 'firm' but much better.

First of all, the M43C does not have the lock. I, too, contacted S&W about mid February and was told that the M43C was in production and should start shipping in March. Well it's the 29th and none of my distributors have any yet, nor does Bud's in the previous thread(if they ever had any). I've been waiting since January 2010. I have a M351C and if the M43C is like it, it'll be worth the wait(almost). Bob!!!!!!

But ...but ... it's a snub nosed .22.

Sorry, I just don't get it.

when you said BG....i didnt click for a second (think you meant BAD GUY) but i instantly thought about the BodyGuard line....how cool would a 317BG be? 10-shot alloy with exposed hammer night sights in 22lr (or a 351NG) that would be cool!

Glad to hear that they're shipping in April(did they mention what year). Those of us who train folks that use J frame centerfires are waiting for a 22 caliber training gun, cheap to shoot. I might even learn to shoot a J frame. I'm not advocating it for CC use, although filled with Stingers, it beats the hell out of nothing. As I have noted in previous threads, my wife has a M351C 7 shot 22 Magnum she carries around the compound in her pocket loaded with Federal 50 gr. JHP's. It's more convienent that her M&P9mm Compact or Stoger 20 gauge coach gun. I'll be ordereing as soon as I find one. Bob!!

Ol' M&P - do you have any issues with extraction? Does the POA match the POI with your 317's? Thx!

Nope, the gun (all 4 of them) pointed and extracted great. I keep the chambers dry as LOW POWER (standard) cartridges can back out and rub the shield. I rotated a bit of Scotch-Brite in the charge holes to give the brass a bit of grip and they all stay put fine. I really like these little guns. Ol'M&P

The little J frame .22s are super fun guns. Besides being great for inexpensive training, they're very handy to carry around. The airweights weigh next to nothing, and are great for a little trail gun or plinker. In the hands of a skilled shooter, they are capable of borderline astonishing accuracy. They're a challenging gun to shoot well, which adds to the fun. It's easy to make a difficult shot with a heavy, long barreled .22 with target sights. Make that same shot with a 2" snub with integral sights, and you're a hero!

I heard from an inside source that they're scheduled to ship 4/1/2012 :p

I have also been eagerly awaiting the shipment of these little J's though. I have a 2" M63, but it'd be cool to have a .22LR snub that mirrored my 442 more closely...and it's alleged not to have a lock!? All the more reason to want one! :D
