Do you want the tritium refreshed or do you want a different sight? Trijicon will relamp it. If you or a gunsmith can remove the sight you don't have to send the revolver to them.
Half of the owners of the K,L Comp revolvers can not see the tritium lamp in their guns when they are brand new
This is because the front sight is so narrow the vial does not hold enough tritium gas.
Now with regards to the revolver in post #3, that is not the correct rear sight for the gun. That is a Cylinder and Slide Extreme Duty rear sight.
If you are keeping that rear sight, it does not matter what the correct sight height is on an original revolver
You will need to workup a proper front sight height for your combination. If you call the companies and tell them what gun, barrel length and rear sight you have they will guide you to the choices availble
Yes you are correct that is the C&S rear sight. The only frustration I have is that I need the current front sight height to do the calculations. Luckily I heard back from S&W - it's .241 high.
I would be looking for a height that works with the rear sight thats NOT factory, taking into account if the elevation on the rear is maxed out in either direction.
