You can thank the folks who complained about the fact that 1.0s would automatically go into battery 100% of the time if magazines were firmly seated.
It was never a problem, but rather a helpful feature, yet because people perceived it as an issue, they complained about it until S&W made it so that absolutely could not happen via a modification to the slide stop.
Granted, yours is definitely locking up tighter than it is supposed to, but the problem most likely wouldn't exist at all if it weren't for the unnecessary modification, presumably added for worryworts concerned over the possibility that it could result in the slide going into battery, yet weren't confident in their own ability to remedy the situation with a simple tap to the rear of the slide with their palm on the 1% chance that such were to occur at a critical moment.
