I have M&P 45s in both the full size and the compact. Interestingly, when I shoot them, the "perceived recoil" for the compact is less than the full size. This is counterintuitive to me. Has anybody else experienced this? Maybe the laws of physics with respect to a smaller lever outweigh the laws of physics with more mass. Hey, just trying to come up with a logical explanation here.

I would guess it is due to the slightly shorter grip bringing the barrel slightly closer to your arm's center of gravity because you are gripping a little bit higher compared to the longer FS grip, and the slightly shorter barrel reducing the length of time the bullet is accelerating.

Maybe...

Maybe subconsciously you prefer the smaller pistol...

I didn't feel a thing..
