I purchased my 45 (2.0) last year and have not had any problems with it and it shoots great.

However I did not like the extreme (to me) curve of the trigger.

So I got an Apex flat trigger and took it to a gunsmith who has worked on several weapon in the past for and does excellent work. He put an Apex Duty Carry trigger in my Shield 40 1.0 a few years ago. I normally do this type of thing myself on other brands but never to an M&P.

He can not get the take down lever to come out and neither can I. Simple process but the lever will move up and down and not come out. I never had any problem disassembling the gun for cleaning but had never fully disassembled any of my M&Ps,

He is waiting on a reply from S&W to help him out.

Anyone here ever have that problem and a solution?.

I reviewed videos of this and it seemed to come out very easily in those videos.

Any help would be appreciated.

Unless I'm mistaken, one of the changes made to the 2.0 resulted in a change to the locking block/frame. As a result, I don't believe it's necessary to remove the takedown lever to remove the 2.0 locking block. I believe all you have to remove is the frame pin below the takedown lever and the trigger pin to remove the locking block.

To remove the take down lever in an M2.0 you have to lift the locking block up so it's not fully seated. This is one of the changes from the first generation.

I will pass that on to my gun guy and he may get the answer from S&W.....but I am sure he has worked on 2.o versions at some time

Thanks!

You have to remove both the frame pin, and the trigger pin and lift the locking block out to remove the takedown lever on the M2.0.

For my own edification, is there no retention relief in the takedown lever where a spring would go, or has the spring been removed completely?
