S&W M&P 9mm fully jammed

Mirrors are fairly stable technology. I can't recall when they were invented but they are handy to look at certain things you don't want to or can't look at directly. Dentists still use them... :D

Just another story about this crappy ammunition. Today while at the range the group next to me said sir we have a jammed gun and could I help I went to their lane and saw three boxes of TulAmmo and then picked up a Kel-Tec .380 one of those pocket pistols. The first thing I did was try to manually rack the slide and as it was almost impossible I was not going to force it to possibly break their gun so I looked at the guy and said that the first real problem was the TulAmmo and explained what happened with my M&P 45 using this crappy ammo.

In my case the gun fired the round but the pressure of the detonation and the crappy steel bursted inside the barrel doing almost exactly the same problem that they were having. I told them that I know it is hard to find ammunition these days but TulAmmo is not one that I would buy nor ever use again just for the same problem they had just experienced.

For more see my original post about this crappy ammunition @ http://smith-wessonforum.com/smith-wesson-m-p-pistols/257793-tulammo-never-again.html

I bought some Tulammo today. Maybe I'll save it for my Glock 19 or 26. They never seem to have any issues no matter what I feed it

Well good luck but I would never risk putting ammunition into any weapon even at the range that could damage or seize up my weapon, also known as a jam the steel cases that TulAmmo uses is likely to work most but all of the time and when it fails it will jam or seize your barrel and make it very difficult to correct and if you keep shooting that stuff you will know what I am talking about so why risk possible damage and embarrassment at the range with really crappy ammo...saving money is just not worth it and it is not made in the United States it is made in Russia (our Cold War enemy)!

My range will no longer allows Tulammo and they allow everything. They have had 5 catastrophic firearm failures of different brands all using Tulammo and all caused by too much powder/pressure.

Luckily no one has sustained a serious injury yet but my hands are worth a couple bucks a box to stay away from that stuff.

M&P 9mm jammed

Same thing happened to me yesterday. I had been shooting some 10 year old reloads and had a few that didn't go off, but the primer was visibly dented. Then the slide locked and would only move about 1mm. Normal multiple racking attempts wouldn't budge it. Came home read the posts and then took it to a gunsmith today and he got it open. When in doubt to the safe thing! Now what to do with 1000 rounds of 9mm reloads?

Had the exact same problem, with the exact same ammo from Walmart. Jammed both of my 9mm 1911s. Had accidentally put a TulAmmo in the magazine today, along with some Remington. Jammed as soon as the TulAmmo came up. It took me 10 minutes of working the slide until it finally came out. I did not force it, just gently giggled it with varying amount to force, light to medium. Suddenly it just came out. I will never use this ammo again. This was the third time I've had this problem. On one occasion it took me 20 minutes playing with the slide before it would extract the round. ****!!

just had this happen. pretty easy solution if you have four hands available. lay gun on its side so extractor is showing. one person pushes down on back of extractor with pin punch , freeing it from the cartridge rim. second person pulls back on slide. while slide is being held back, use flat screw driver to get behind the rim and pop out bad case.DON"T TRY TO DRIVE IT OUT FROM THE MUZZLE, EVER.

Use the mirror unless you are a vampire.

You might not see yourself, but you would still see the bullet, besides, unless the bullet was made of a wooden stake, you wouldn't have much to worry about.

I agree on the Tulammo issue. My son had picked up two boxes for me. Since I can not use them at the range, I took them to a friend's house, and shot them there. They all shot fine, but had multiple FTF's. No more Tulammo for me. My M&P 9c has shot everything else just fine.

Same thing happened to me

Same thing happened to me today. Two live round jams. First one cleared fine after dropping the mag and sliding, but the second was exactly as you describe - could move the slide millimeters, with the live round slightly visible. I hammered the top of the round about medium strength, then pulled the slide hard. That popped the shell from the bullet, and a few slides got the disassembled bullet out.

Bought an M&P Shield 9 and shot it for the first time today. Jammed like an old copy machine for the first 30+rounds. Expended brass would not clear the chamber preventing the live round from loading. After additional lubrication she performed well for another 30+ rounds. I purchased this gun to carry as it is easy to conceal due to its size. Going to continue to carry my bulkier - proven extremely reliable - Glock 19, until I feel confident this gun will be ready to go when I need it.

I had failures to eject/feed in the first 5 mags on my Shield. Cleaned/lubed the hell outta it, locked the slide back for a week and it's been flawless for nearly 3K rounds since. It was SUPER tight when it was new. It'll loosen up.

With all due respect, how could you not know if it is a live round or not? Weren't you the one handling the weapon?

Being as the original post was from January 2013, do we know how it turned out? Maybe I missed cyb's final post.
