How bad is the recoil on these with standard ammo?

Recoil is very subjective but once you get above 25 ounces like the Night Guard, it won't be harsh like the PD series with the titanium cylinders. You might not enjoy putting 100-150 rounds thru it in an hour, but it won't be unmanageable. I would call it snappy.

I own a 325NG...
...and it's my primary carry gun.
The recoil is akin to shooting .38 Specials in a J frame revolver. I removed the issued Pachmayr's, and replaced them with Hogue's. This further decreases the felt recoil. Besides, I like the Hogue's, and I have them on all my N frame revolvers. (Yes, they're butt ugly, but they work.)
I've put 100+ rounds through it at the range in at least three sessions, I regularly practice with it, and there's no real discomfort using it. It's not as soft as my Model 625 (Jerry Miculek, 4"), or my Model 25-2 (6.5"), but it's very pleasant. The volume of that large N frame does make a difference.

I have shot factory 230gr ammo and 185gr +P ammo in my 325 Night Guard.
I replaced the rubber grips with a pair of small wood grips because they made the gun more compact and they fit my hand better.
I find the recoil not bad at all for a carry gun.
If I was going to shoot the gun a lot at the range, at one time, more comfortable grips would be a good idea, but that is not what, IMHO a lightweight big bore gun is for.
I have shot a few hundred rounds through mine but I do it 30 to 50 rounds in a day, interspaced with other guns I am shooting at the range.
I like this "little" 45 ACP revolver a lot.
In fact I have it next to me as I type this.
I keep it near me every night.
With full moon clips you can reload it in TOTAL darkness...
