I noticed on my 3914,4513tsw, and 45 cqb all of the magazines have a little bump ontop of the follower. seems like it would cause the bullet to jam up a little bit. I thought about shaving it off but i havent had any issues. anyone what that is for?

Don't shave it off and expect them to work for you. As to why they are there, try calling S&W.

This may not be the exact reason for the bump but as the mag feeds up the spring looses tension and as the last round reaches the top of the mag this bump creates less drag on the case allowing for positive feed

JMO do not remove

I've noticed these on my 4516 mags too, no idea what they really do. I guess it's all part of their "AccuGuide" design.

Here's an idea, remove them and let us know if anything changes.;)

Kidding, don't do that. I'm sure S&W put them there for some reason we mere mortals aren't aware of. I like PHB's theory, makes sense.

My 645, 4506 and 4513tsw all have the "bump" and I have never had a feeding problem with any of them. I think I will leave it alone, don't screw with anything that works. Jim.

i wasnt going to remove them just wondered what its for.
