im back been awhile out of country question have mod. 581 factory redone just purchased shot last weekend with alum. casing bullets will not move cyl. locked up still has 3 live rounds in it could someone pleae let me know how to remove cyl. to free it up and safely remove bullets thank you signed buckshot

What has likely happened is this: the shells have come back against the recoil shield and stuck causing friction to the rotation of the cylinder. I'd put the gun in the refrigerator for an hour or so and allow the cylinder and shells to contract if they will. Then I'd remove the gun and, while holding the cylinder release forward, tap the cylinder lightly with a rubber mallet. LIGHTLY I said. We don't want to bend the cylinder arm. Once it flops out you can drive out the empties with a dowel or screwdriver and mallet being careful not to ding the cylinder throats.

Check to see if there's a bullet bridging the cylinder gap (from a squib load) and check to see if a bullet in one of the remaining rounds has backed out from recoil. If either has happened, the bullets can be pushed back into the cartridge with a wooden dowel and a little tap with a hammer.

Is it a 581 with no dash revision ?
Also By "Factory redone" are you saying it has the "M" mod that changed the hammer nose bushing ?

Like they said dont overdo it, if you get too aggressive something will bend or break and you do not want that.
