Sad that it's import stamped! Ugh.
Not everyone cares about the import stamp, I know... But, for about $2K I'd like no stamp, please.
Does this model really command such a price tag?!

I think $2000 is way too high, I have recently seen some in the $1000 to $1300 range. The 32 H&R Mag MOd 16-4 is undervalued, and a great gun.
$1,300 would be a fair price for a 16-4 in excellent condition with the original combat stocks. Add a little if it includes the box & papers. The 4” barrel will bring an additional $100. Deduct $200 to $250 if the combat stocks have been replaced with S&W target stocks and deduct more if it has aftermarket grips.

Need help to ensure correct Ammo M16-4
I was recently gifted a S&W 32 Mag with 8 3/8 barrel Mod 16-4. I want to make sure I use the correct ammo. Can any one help a newbie on the sight. I did several searches but did not get any useful information.

The Mod 16-4 will handle the 32 H&R Magnum, the 32 S&W Long, the 32 S&W, and I have been told (in emergencies only) the 32 auto.
If you need help sighting it in, I would work from a Sand Bag rest, off a solid bench, and start at 25 yards. If you are familiar with normal sight picture, the front blade top level with the top of the rear sight and the blade centered in the notch. Fire 3 rounds and see where the "group" is then adjust the rear sight in the direction you want the group to move to. It is a little trial and error until you will be satisfied with group on target.

I used to run up and down a hill named Firebase Bastogne once upon a time in 1970-71. It was named for that town in the Ardennes - both were occupied by the 101st Airborne
My favorite load in my 16-4 is 11 grains of LilGun powder and a 100 grain Hornsby FTX. Very good accuracy and 1230 FPS.
The .32 ACP is a semi-rimmed case that “can” be safely fired in the Model 16-4 but it’s not a very good idea. Upon ejection, cases are often likely to get missed by the ejector and when this happens, it usually takes three hands and a poking device to get these little suckers out of your cylinder.
This is one of those things that is a bad idea but not harmful... so you truly can try it for yourself if that’s the best method of learning it.
It’s worth noting however that it is a BAD and also unsafe practice to shoot .32 Auto from old hand ejectors chambered for the .32 S&W Long, as the shorter .32ACP cartridge runs a higher max pressure.

The mention above about the 16-4 being able to shoot the 327 Federal Magnum could be correct, but the chambers would have had to be reamed to that length outside the factory. It has been successfully done many times. But unless it has been done the 327 cartridge is too long to fit the 32 H&R chambers.
