I HAVE TWO SMITH AND WESSON MODEL 16's I WOULD LIKE SOME INFORMATION ON.

The first is 4 in. mod. 16, 32mag, blued, ser# BEH 07XX.
The second is a 6 in. mod. 16-4, 32mag, blued ser# BEF 91XX.

Both are in unfired, orginal excellent condition. (no markes, no scratches, no nothing)
Could someone give me a ballpark value on these revolvers
without the boxes.

thankyou
Jim

The 4" specimens are the ones currently bringing the premium prices, but the 6" ones are not far behind.

Best to check out recent Gun Broker or Auction Arms sites where such actually sold and gauge from there. At least here, it would seem that if you see them for less than $1,000 it is unusual. The asking prices on GB are usually higher than that, don't know how many sell. My impression is the few I've seen advertised here haven't lasted long, especially the 4" versions.

"Blue Book shows in perfect (100%) $750, (98%) $650, and goes down from there."

I personally find Blue Book values laughable, and rarely remotely resembling anything near market values. By the time the information is compiled, printed and distributed the 'current' info is probably two years old. The book is useful for identification of models and variations, and I find it useful for antiques like old Winchesters, but there are still instances where Blue Book values are grossly under AND over estimated compared to what I see things actually selling for. In my experience it is primarily used by certain traders and gun show bandits to try to buy your gun at an unrealistic low-ball price or sell one of their "priceless collectibles" for a king's ransom. It's a reference point to start a discussion IMO.

I own 5 of them, the lowest price I paid was $800.00. Post some pictures of them. I think the market price is closer to $1,000 most of the time. It helps if the buyer is a fanatic for the 32 S&W magnum (like me)!!!
