Hello,
I have just joined the forum and would like help in order to identify, and get some info on a value for, this pistol that I have considered selling for some time.

Great shooting gun and a little reluctant to part with but would like to turn it into another item that goes bang.

Thank you for the opportunity to join!

+1 on the above.

That is a nice one that I'd be reluctant to part with myself. If you decide to sell it, doubt you have much trouble finding someone that wants it.

Enjoy the forum, wealth of information and great stories here.

Nice Combat Masterpiece. Too bad you have to sell it.
I agree with above, that you could probably get $650 - $700 for it pretty easily, more if you are patient.

Multiple #s

Thanks for the pricing info. The gun has multiple serial #s. The frame has a series beginning with 1k726.. and the crane has 77786... This according to a friend is unusual? Any ideas?

Txs again!

The 1K726XX is the serial number. The 77786 is factory assembly numbers not related to the serial number. Not unusual at all.

Numbers

Txs. for the reply. My bud admits to knowing very little @ S&W so I appreciate the help.

I would keep that gem and sell plasma to get the other gun you want. I let a 4 in 617 go many years ago and regret it to this day.

$650 & up all day long in my neck of the woods. Hard to find revolver, had to send off to Tucson for old 1K951xx

Got just the one I wanted, but spent well over $700 after all the smoke blew away.

Don't forget condition either. It's hard to see much detail in the pictures but the upper price range means the gun is flawless and includes the original box and paperwork. Start subtracting from there for any finish flaws, loss of bluing, missing box, etc, etc.

Some new sellers disregard condition and just look at other prices found online for the same model, and think this is what their gun is worth. Condition is a huge variable.

I have a decent stack of S&W revolvers, in every caliber but 32_20. I even have 4 in 22 or. One of them is a model 18. I have fired more rounds though it than any other gun I own and it would be the last one I would ever all.
