I like the gun. The grips look like they were made for someone with oversized paws.....I hop the auction house offers you some recompense, but that is a very nice piece, regardless.
The auction house did make a generous offer that I accepted and did not really push back that hard. They are also working to aid me in getting some provenance from the family on the gun's history. I am satisfied with what I have in hand. Thanks for all of the thoughts and contributions to this thread.
Sounds like a good final outcome. Getting the history/provenance on the gun would be icing on the cake.
Now you’ll have a “shooter” 1950 4” 44 spl to use and enjoy.
It sure is a classy gun no matter the provenance. Who wouldn’t want a 44 spl with the M27 treatment?
