Hey all, I had a chance to go to the Oaks show on Friday and stopped in to see ScottsGuard(Jeff from Highland Arms) and I picked up this really nice S&W Model 28-2 Highway Patrolman ca 1973 pinned and recessed, 6' barrel, .357 Mag.

The gun is 45 years old and it's original purpose was for LEO carry, but I'm not sure if this one found it's way into a holster too many times.

What do you think?

Best Regards,

Kobsw

Very nice. I handled that gun some on Friday.

It was a nice show Friday. Not a whole lot of N frames this show.

Jeff always has a 28-2 doesn't he? LOL

paplinker, thx and yes Jeff really does have some nice guns.

I was there right at 1pm and hit his table first. Jeff had 2 28's so you may have handled the other since I bought this one at about 1:15....lol

Very nice find, great looking handgun!
Hoping to make the show tomorrow! ;)

That's a nice 28, congrats. You can never have to many 28's. Jeff is always my first stop at Oaks. He always has something interesting, and he's a good guy to do business with.

31Ford... Thank you and yes Jeff has had some nice stuff.

I've bought some nice guns from Jeff, he's a great guy along with the people who work with him.

I don't know, it looks pretty beat up and worn out to me! Are you sure it hasn't been re-finished??

Sorry, couldn't resist. Didn't want your head to get TOO big. :D

That definitely is a beauty! And no, I don't believe that one was ever carried for business purposes. ;)

Nice Model 28!! I'd say you did well depending on how much the sticker price was.

I showed up at the show around 2:30 on Friday, but wasn't looking for anything in particular.

I have purchased from Jeff at the show before and have found that he has fair prices, and sometimes has some real gems as far as condition. My last purchase from him was a perfect condition 3T 19-3 in box and it wasn't a steal by any means but fairly priced for what it was. Jeff has always been a straight shooter and I have never had any problems.

There was one other gentleman who has some nice S&W guns at that show, and his name escapes me at the moment, but he's a relative newcomer and seems to be selling some of his collection, rather than a full time dealer. Paplinker probably can remember his name!

Enjoy the Model 28! Nice gun for sure! See you at the show,,,

There has been a 19-2 in near perfect condition for 625.00 there for about three shows now. His booth is kind of tucked away and he has it in a spot its hard to make out. Surprised its still there. Its becoming fun to see how long its not been discovered.

Sorry I missed you friday. Saw a Turnbull 20-4 that made me want to give you a call.

IC, the gun was very fairly priced and you are right about Jeff.

Ohhh and by the way that 19 you got is TOPS!!!!

I'm not sure which dealer you're referring to but Hercules aka Herc has high end smith's and colts and his prices reflect just that.

He's a tall gray haired guy with glasses. His table is always in the center hall kind of in the middle.

I'm hoping to hit the next show. Hopefully Jeff will have a Nickel Model 10 in the box... I can dream.

Regards,

Kobsw
