S&W MODEL 38

I was asked to look at this gun for a retired LEO. Complaint very hard double action pull. This is a blue gun with nickel ejection rod and yoke. I did not ask about the nickel pieces.
When I opened the gun found the trigger pivot stud broken off where it meet the frame.

Ouch! Well out of my “kitchen table gunsmith” skill set.

Definitely interested in how to properly fix that.
