S&W Model 39 and 59 extractor question

Hey guys, A question regarding the new vs old extractor on the s&w 39, 39-2 and 59. I'm reading (prior to purchase) about issues regarding the new vs old extractor on this gun. Can someone set me straight on this issue. Thanks

Don't know if this will help but in post #2 Fastbolt describes the difference between new and old extractors. I'm not sure if this applies only to 3rd Gen pistols but it was what I was able to find.

I don't believe the 59 ever came with the old extractor. The 39-nothing had the old extractor which was changed with the 39-2.
