S&W Model 41 date

From a previous post, a Model 41 with the number A1318xx was made in 1971. My Model 41 has a number A1351xx so I would think it was made in the mid-70's. Can someone pin the date down more exactly? Thanks.

That should be 1971 also I think mine was the other Ser# you mentioned and it would be late 70 or early 71

Hi BigBoy99,
You Never know as my mod 41 Serial A1318xx left the factory August 1977. Roy expressed surprise and stated that it should have been a 1971 gun but the record showed 1977. I am going to have get a letter on this one.

Thanks for the data. Using linear interpolation, my M41 was mfg. in mid March 1971.
