S&w model 422

I have a s&w model 422 6" barrel, wood grips, box, one mag, and adjustable sites. Everything is original. What would this go for? It is not perfect condition. I would say average condition. No major scrapes, nor damage. It has been well taken care of.

I’ve bought 3 of them in the last 3 months at Gun shows here in Texas. Paid as low as $225 for plain fixed sight without a box to $375 for a pristine example with box, tools, manual, etc.

LGS in my area has had a couple pass through the store. "Retail" priced from $250-$375. They ranged in condition from well used to nearly as new. Rarely do they haggle on price until they have been in the case several months.

I recently purchased a 6 inch barrel version with 2 mags and adjustable rear sight in excellent like new condition for $250US.

$250.00 would be a very fair price for a older great shooter in good shape. They use the same mags as a M41 or M46 as well.

Condition is an unusually big factor (percentage-wise) with these pistols. I see the same thing up here in my area. I've wanted one from that "family" of S&W pistols for a while now, but prices on the nicest ones are hard for me to justify when I've already got so many other .22 LR pistols. :o I probably should have bought one during a recent "$50 off" sale at one of the local shops, but that still would have been $349+Tx and I've really been saving for other things. :o Maybe next year. :cool:
